Clopay Announces European Restructuring

Mason, OH - Clopay Plastic Products Company has recently announced that it has merged its two European operations under a single European management team. The integration of Clopay Aschersleben GmbH & Co. KG and Böhme Clopay GmbH into one "Clopay Europe" organization was made to better focus sales and marketing, product development, and manufacturing operations on European business opportunities.

"By bringing these organizations together Clopay is more suited to service the needs of customers and be a more effective and efficient force in Europe. With the company becoming more international in scope, we needed to put more focus on regional markets, customers, and competitive issues to continue to grow regionally as well as globally," said Gary Abyad, President, Clopay Plastic Products Company.

Clopay Europe represents roughly 50% of Clopay Plastics' annual sales volume. Finotech was started as a joint venture between Clopay Plastics and BBA Fiberweb in 1996, but became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clopay in 2005. With the addition of Advanced Printing Aschersleben GmbH in 2003, Finotech became one of Europe's biggest and most prominent extrusion and printing facilities. Böhme Clopay was founded in 1969 and began its affiliation with Clopay in 1998. Böhme Clopay focuses primarily on cast and blown films in addition to specialty converting.
